Miss Maryvonne Hobbs Bride Of Carlton Brinkley Hofo’bsville. — The marriage of Miss Maryvonne Hobbs, of Suf folk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ephriiam Jackson Hobbs, of Hobbsville, to Carlton Clarence Brinkley, USNR, son of Mt. and Mrs. C. C. Brinkley, of Nanse-. mond county, was solemnized Saturday evening at the West End Baptist Church in Suffolk. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of embroidered organza over taffeta, made with a sweetheart neckline edged with ruffles of the same material. eHr only ornament was a string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a bridal bouquet of white roses,’ gardenias and ioaby.’s breath, made over a handker chief of net iand tatting. ~J Miss Cora Mae Bagley, oi Nor folk, and Miss Mary Ida Brink ley, sister of the groom, were maids of honor. Mrs. Elbert Womble, of Suf folk, sister of the bride, served as mistress of ceremonies. The bridegroom had for his best man, Howard Merritt, US NR, and ushers were Elbert Womble and Carlie Adams, brothers - in - law, of the bride, and Frank Rountree, of Cor^ peake, iand Ryland Brinkley, brother of the groom. Mrs. Hobbs, mother of the bride was dressed in a gown of black and white with black accessor ies and a corsage of gardenias and Mrs. Brinkley, mother of the bridegroom, was dressed in black and also wore gardenias. Reception Held Immediately following the ceremony a reception was given by Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Womble and Captain and Mrs. J. C.
