Miss Elsie Lawrence spent Sunday night with Miss Mamie Ellis. Miss Brona Holder of Ports mouth spent last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Eure. Miss Nelle Rose Ellis of E.C. T.C., Greenville, spent the week end with her mother, Mrs. Nel lie Ellis. Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Hofler visited Mrs. Robert Phillips in Baltimore, Md., during the week end and were accompanied home by Miss Masseltine Hofler, who has been spending sometime there. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Wolfley and sons, Robert, Bill, and Gene, of Newport News, spent Mon day with Mr. Wolf ley’s mother, Mrs. L. L. Harrell and Mr. Har rell. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Parker and Miss Mary Parker of Nor folk spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Parker. Mrs. Emma Lee Ward spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Alton Parker in Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Law rence and son of Suffolk visited Mrs. W. H. Lawrence and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lawrence, Jr., during the weekend. Dr. and Mrs. M. M. Lilley and son, Melvin, of Scotland Neck, and Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Boyce, Jr., and son, R. S., Ill, of New port News, visited Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Boy-ce during the week end. Mrs. D. E. Minton visited Mr. and Mrs. George Minton and Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Gillenwaters in Portsmouth a few days last week. I Bridal Party Entertained Corapeake.—After the rehear sal at Cypress Christian church on Saturday evening the bridal party of the Case-Hobbs wed ding' was entertained at a cake cutting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Brinkley. The home was beautifully decorated with white and pink snapdragons and white and picardy gladioli carrying out the color scheme for the evening of pink and white. The guests were received at the door by Mrs. Claude Mor gan. Misses Beth Ellen Edwards and Blanche Brinkley served punch. Mrs. Brinkley assisted (by Mrs. Rae Hobbs served cake, mints and nuts to Miss Hilda Case, bride-elect, Miss Jean Case, maid of honor, Miss Mil dred Hobbs, and Miss Marjorie Anne Brinkley, bride’s maids, Mrs. Wallace Brinkley, pianist, Miss Anne Case, soloist, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Case, parents of the bride, and Thomas Hobbs, groom, Ralph Hobbs, best man, Curtis Powell, Ernest Brinkley, George Lassiter and Sumner Riddick, ushers. Hobbs-Case Suffolk.—A wedding of in terest was solemnized Sunday, June 16, at 4 o’clock at Cypress Chapel Christian Church, with the pastor, the Rev. R. E. Brittle, officiating, when Miss Hilda Irene Case, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Case, became the bride of Thomas Jackson Hobbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Hobbs. Miss Jean Case, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mildred Hobbs and Marjorie Anne Brinkley. Anne Bruce was flower girl and carried a blue net basket filled with pink rose petals. The bridegroom had for his best man his cousin, Ralph Hobbs.
