Bridal Party
Entertained
Corapeake.—After the rehear
sal at Cypress Christian church
on Saturday evening the bridal
party of the Case-Hobbs wed
ding' was entertained at a cake
cutting at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. L. C. Brinkley. The home
was beautifully decorated with
white and pink snapdragons and
white and picardy gladioli
carrying out the color scheme
for the evening of pink and
white.
The guests were received at
the door by Mrs. Claude Mor
gan. Misses Beth Ellen Edwards
and Blanche Brinkley served
punch. Mrs. Brinkley assisted (by
Mrs. Rae Hobbs served cake,
mints and nuts to Miss Hilda
Case, bride-elect, Miss Jean
Case, maid of honor, Miss Mil
dred Hobbs, and Miss Marjorie
Anne Brinkley, bride’s maids,
Mrs. Wallace Brinkley, pianist,
Miss Anne Case, soloist, Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Case, parents of the
bride, and Thomas Hobbs, groom,
Ralph Hobbs, best man, Curtis
Powell, Ernest Brinkley, George
Lassiter and Sumner Riddick,
ushers. The bride-elect present
ed beautiful gifts to her attend

Suffolk.—A wedding of in
terest was solemnized Sunday,
June 16, at 4 o’clock at Cypress
Chapel Christian Church, with
the pastor, the Rev. R. E. Brittle,
officiating, when Miss Hilda
Irene Case, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. B. F. Case, became the
bride of Thomas Jackson Hobbs,
son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Hobbs.
Miss Jean Case, sister of the
bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mildred Hobbs
and Marjorie Anne Brinkley.
Anne Bruce was flower girl and
carried a blue net basket filled
with pink rose petals.
The bridegroom had for his
best man his cousin, Ralph
Hobbs. Ushers were James Las
siter, Ernest Brinkley, Sumner
Riddick, of Suffolk, and Curtis
Powell of Sunbury.

Honored at Tea
Mrs. W. P. Hudgins entertain
ed at her home on June 12 from
4 to 6 o’clock at a tea in honor
of Mrs. William Hudgins.
The guests were met at the
door by the hostess and guest of
honor. Each registered before
entering the living room, where
they were served punch. The
guests were theft invited to the
dining ro'om where they were
served ice cream, cookies, and
nuts.
The Hudgins’ home was deco
rated with beautiful summer cut
flowers carrying out the color of
pink and white.
