John S Cunningham i denouticeil those members of the; Board of Agriculture who are trying j to usurp pow er as lit uic-ipies 01 Kiri: and bis brigands ha was too mild in his denunciation. Kirk and his band o cut-throats had some shadow of authority from corrupt officers to carry out their program of violence and knavery. Theconcocted conspiracy to usurp powers which the board less than two months ago did not claim win liefondemned from ons end f the ssttte to the other. Upon the ad journment of the Legislature, the cha'rinaii and secietary of the Board of Agriculture wrote to the thirteen'nieml ers they now refuse t recognize, notifying them of their election and summoning them to attend a meeting of the board. They came, sat with tbe Ruasell board of nine, and both the old and new members unanimously elected Col. Cunningham chairman of the. board. They acted together in naming committees, and the last issue of the Bulletin, the official organ if the Agricultural Department contained the names of all the new and all the old members together as composing the "State Board of Agriculture of North Carolina, 1899." Af ttr such recognition, it is scaudaluus awl smacks' of u job for tbe old mem oers to hatch up a conspiracy to deprive the new members of the positions to which they have bieu elected. . , PaisM) Complexion.
