The year 1917 was ushered In very quietly in this section, and It seems that everybody has taken holiday enough and are now very busy cut ting and preparing wood for plant beds. The wheat crop is looking fine at this writing and promises to be a bumper this year. There are four more snows due this winter, as there were five fogs last August, according to the ac count kept by the writer. Mr. Claude Ellington, of High Point visited bis parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Ellington, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Zeb Roberts and family of PlAflaantvlllA visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Dye. Saturday and Sunday, Mjr. iBunnie Pryor ha.s returned home from an extended visit to his friends and relatives in Danville. Mr. II. P.
