Mr. Roberts was in declining health for the ipast year and parsed away Monday at 9 o'clock. J. N. About 9 o'clock Sunday night, Lu ther Coward met with a painful ac cident whMe making" some necessary repairs on the steam pipes in the Wearwell Bed Spread mill at Leaks ville. Coward was working on a stag ing when one of the steam ' pipes burst. He fCii to the floor and was in jured by the fall. It -was afterwards found that hi face and neck were scalded by. the steam from the burst ed pitfl Just as the accident hap poned Superintendent Forster hap pened to vl3it the mill and he at ones phoned Dr. Ray who rsopnded quick ly, and the injured man was taken to his heme in Mr. Forester's machine After Mr. Coward was revived he was able to. walk to the machine, and it Is expected that he will" b,3 out In a short time. Mr. Louis Wall and Miss Minnie Lauten were married at the home of the. bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs1, Lee Lauten last Thuresday night. Mr. John Lewis has charge of the wholesale grocery house here. Mr. Everette Matthews of Winston Salem was in Stonevtlte Sunday. Mr. Busick Taylor spent Saturday at Crltz w!th his brother, Houston; Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Walker, last week, a daughter. Misses Annie Baughn and" Jesse Martin are teaching the Frog. Pond School. Mr. DameTon Joyce has bought Mr, Rufus Belton'e home on Cemetery street and will move into it soon. Mrs. Fannie Lewis has gone to Wal nut Cove to spend some time with her daughter, Mrs. Sharp. Mrs. Sam Robertson is improving after beOng quite sick. The many friends of Mr. John Kelly Fulton regret to learn that 'he has left Stonevtlle for his home-in Patrick County, Vt.
