It seems that the man intended going from Salisbury to Greensboro, but he boarded the wrong train, whicli was train No. 15, on the Asheville division of the Southern. He got off the train at Barter’s and walked into the"waiting I'oom, whej^ he, re- /tnained some time waiting freight train tard Salisbury, arrived and had i>pped at the water tank, and Started tow'ard Salisbury when the young man ran out of the station and attempted to board the moving freight, when in some manner he lost his hold, being thrown under the wheels of the car and the body was ground be yond recognition in a fewseconds. Several parties witnessed the accident. The young man was about 23 years of age, and up to Tuesday afternoon no one had identified the body. On the in side of his coat there appeared the name “H.T. Price,” and aside from a dime which was found in one of his pockets there was nothing by which he could be identified. One party said he thought he had seen the man in Asheville, while others thought he was a news “butch” running out of Greensboro.—.Journal, 1st. Denny of Hampton- ville, died Sunday night after an illness lasting only two days Meningetis claimed the child as its victim at the early age of 14 months, 5 days.
