he is seriously ill at his home in
Jonesville, suffering from a heart
ailment and complications.

past several weeks. Dr. Wellborn's
condition is much improved.

Baltimore, Md., where he will at
tend the Pathological Institute at
John Hopkins Hospital. He expects
to return Sunday.

parents Monday from a severe ill
ness of diphtheria. Funeral ser
vices and interment were from Is
land Ford church in Yadkin county
Tuesday afternoon. The rites were
in charge of Rev. Richard Pardue.
To Present Play
The Lucy Hanes Chatham Club
will present a play, "Merry Christ
mas", In the Elkin Methodist church
this evening (Thursday) at 7:30.
The play will be interspersed with
readings, solos, quartets and music.
Following the play the annual ex
change of gifts will be made.
