Vestal and sons, Rayner and Warner of Bassett, Va., spent the Thanksgiving holi days here with Mrs. S. M. Vestal and attended the Fall Creek revi val. Miss Edith Stui tz and Joe Phelps of Mills Home. Macy, of Hampton ville on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Macy accompanied them home and was their guest for the holi days. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Chamb ers of Mount Airy, have been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wily Seagraves also attended the funeral of his brother, H. F. Chambers at Pleasant Grove on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Holcomb had as their guest from Wednes day until Sunday, Miss Leona Grindstaff of High Point. ELKIN, NORTH CAROLINA Pleasant Garden, vis ted their sis ter, Mrs. Q. 8. Wagoner, on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Wagoner is recuperating from a major op eration at Davis Hospital a few weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gray and children spent the Thanksgiving with Mrs. Robert Gray near Ron da. Mrs. Ivry Johnson and Misses Georgia Vestal and Evelyn Arn old spent Sunday afternoon visit ing Mrs. Herbert Stelyis, who is recovering from a recent illness. The friends of Vertie Freeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Freeman, will regret to learn that she is ill this week. Mr. and Mrs. Hayes Haynes and children, Jerry and Norma Sue, visted Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Vestal on Thanksgiving Day. Miss Rama Blackwood, student at W.C.UJN.C. Greensboro, spent Thanksgiving here with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Turner Black wood. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Mcßride had as their guest during the Thanksgiving holidays, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Burton and child ren, of Harmony, Misses Flora Kate Stroud, and Amanda Millie of Ronda and Lola and Annie Lee Morrison of Bethel commun ity. During Miss Stroud's visit here she had an attack of appen- j dicitis and was taken to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and underwent an operation on Mon day. Mrs. Percy Felts has as her guest this week her brother, Edd Porster, of North Wilkesboro. Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Boles and daughter, June, spent Saturday in Winston-Salem. Messers. L. S. Weaver and J. H. Swaringen attended the Duke- Pitt football game at Durham on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Chappel and daughter, Dorothea and Mr. and Mrs. Wilmoth Swaim motored over to Leaksville on Sunday and visited Mr. and Mrs. Walker Macey. Mr. John Triplett, a member of the faculty at Pleasant Garden, spent the Thanksgiving holidays here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Martin and Mrs. Nellie Love visited Mr. Davis L. Martin in the Veterans Hospi tal in Roanoke, Va. His condition is reported very ill. They also vis ited Natural Bridge and other points of interest in Virginia. Mr. and Mr. Johnson Steelman spent Thanksgiving day with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Steelman at Courtney. Mr. and Mrs, J. E. Reece had as their dinner guests on Thanks giving day, Mrs. Reece's parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Holcomb and son, Flake. Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Mcßrlde had as their dinner guests on Sunday, Miss Edith Stultz and Joe Phelps of Thomasville, Misses Lorraine arid Virginia Lineberfy, Pauline Oilliam and Dothan Reece. The Sunbeams Meet i The Sunbeams of the Baptist church met on Tuesday afternoon for their regular meeting. The topic, "Friends in Palestine." was interestingly discussed by the leader, Lorraine Lineberry. Plans were made to observe this week for the week of prayer for foreign missions. Hie following members were present: Nancy Mayberry, June Boles, Louise and Fred Hemric, Cornelia, Jean and Leonard Lineberry, Lucille Hall, Dorthea Chappell, Lenda Hegger. Wood-Johnson A wedding of much interest was solemnized at the home of Rev. D. G. Reece on Saturday, Novem ber 27, 1937 at twelve-thirty. The couple united in marriage was Hazel Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Johnson of Jonesville and R. O. Wood of High Point, N. C., son of Mr. M. C. Wood of High Point. N. C. The only attendants were the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pinnlx. Mr. and Mrs. Wood will reside at High Point.
