Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Myers spent Saturday in North Wilkes boro, the guests of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bee son will spend Christmas in Randleman and Greensboro, visiting relatives. Ruohs Pyron returned Sunday from a business trip to Cartersviile and Atlanta, Georgia. Miss Jeanette Fulp of Raleigh spent the week-end here the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Pulp, on Elk Spur Street. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smoot and baby spent Sunday in North Wilkesboro, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Love. B. V. Pettyjohn of Brooklyn, N. Y., is the holiday guest of his father, P. W. Pettyjohn, of State Road. Miss Nan Johnson left Wednes day for Winston-Salem, to spend the holidays with her father, Rus sell Johnson. Mrs. A. M. Smith returned last from a visit of two weeks to her mother, Mrs. J. E. Purcelle, at Red Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Johnson will leave Friday for Eastern Car olina, where they will spend the holidays with friends and rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Shore of Yadkinville announce the birth of a son December 21, at the Yadkin Clinic. Mrs. Shore was formerly Miss Hazel Cockerham of this city. Bill Wellborn, a student at Tu lane University, New Orleans, is spending the holidays here with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Wellborn, on Bridge street. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Revelle of Norfolk, Va., will arrive Friday to spend the holidays with Mrs. Revelle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Fulp. Wallace of Kapps Mill were called to Ral eigh last week on account of the illness and death of Mrs. Wallace's I mother, Mrs. J. W. Mitchem. I Mrs. Mitchem passed away on I Sunday without ever regaining I consciousness from a stroke of ! paralysis suffered the previous Friday evening. The many friends of Mrs. Mitchem in this section will regret to hear of her death. Grade Mothers Honor Seniors at Party Tuesday Mesdames Joe Bivins, F. 'W. Graham and W. A. Finney, grade mothers to the Senior class, hon ored the thirty-two members of the class at an enjoyable Christ mas party Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Bivins on Gwyn Avenue. The home was decorated with Christmas greenery and presented a gala appearance. A number of games and contests were enjoyed and Bingo was also played. Prizes went to Miss Helen Dickerson, Dick Graham and Fred Laffoon. Each Senior was presented a small remembrance and gifts were exchanged among the seniors. The gifts were distributed from a beautiful decorated Christmas tree. Plum puddings were served. Atkinson of Elkin, parents of Miss Sara At kinson, a member of the class, who died last year after aa acci dent at the college.
