Hay wood, Jr. surgeon; Dr. Hugh Parks, head of the department of internal medicine, and Dr. C. A. Willis, resident physician, Hugh Chatham Hospital has a large number of doctors always on call In time of emergency or special need. Those physicians on the active staff of the hospital are Dr. M. A. Royall, Dr. H. D. Hoskins. Dr. H. C. Salmons, Dr. I. 8. Gambill, Dr. William R. Welborn and Dr. S. M. Beale, all of Elkin. On the courtesy staff of the hospital are the following doctors who are allowed the use of the hospital in the treatment of their patients: Dr. Spencer Bell and Dr. B. H. Harding, of Brooks Cross Roads; Dr. A. H. Brandon. Yad kin ville; Dr. L. S. Hall, Yadkin ville; Dr. J. R. Plnney, Boonville; Dr. T. W. Shore, Boonville; Dr. Paul Poiger, Dobson; Dr. W. M. Stone, Dobson; Dr. J. L. Dough ton, Sparta! Dr. C. A. Thompson, Sparta; and Drs. B. O. and P. L. Choate, Sparta. ALABAMA PRISONERS RETURN FROM PAROLE Montgomery, Ala., Jan. 2. Convicts—a majority of Alabama's 550 "most worthy" ones—drifted back to prisons today to keep a "word of honor" agreement to re turn from Christmas paroles on time. Today marked the end of a two week vacation won by the men and women for good conduct rec ords. They were bound only "word of honor, man-to-man" with Gov ernor Bibb Graves and their war dens to come back. Hanes. Mrs. Hanes has contributed liberally to all the hospital buildings, and was the largest single contributor to the new addition. tions, but at least one didn't make it. The passing of our clever Regis ter of Deeds, Mr. W. P. Lawrence, has cast a gloom over the official staff at the court house, as well as our entire town. His son. Miss Clara and Lucile Freeman, Thelma Comer, Kathryn Folger and Mary Betty Norman have re turned to their various places of duty after spending Christmas in Dobson. Frank Comer returned Sunday to Louisburg, N. C. to resume his studies at Louisburg College. Miss Mary Cooper returned to day to N. C. C. W., Greensboro, after spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orady Cooper. Mr. and Mrs. Ivey Rogers and son Ivey Gray and Mrs. Mary Fol ger spent a few days last week at Semora, with Mr. Rogers' people. Mr. Carl Pelts of Galax spent New Year's Eve with friends in Dobson. Mrs. Childress of White Plains was the guest of her sister, Mrs. DeWitt Sparger, Sunday. Miss Edythe Reece returned to Dobson Sunday after spending a part of the holidays with relatives in Washington, D. C. The Harkrader family and Mr.' and Mrs. Fletcher Harris of Elkin have returned from sunny Florida, with glowing reports of their so journ in the land of flowers. Atty. w. L.
