Mr. Rufus Dudley Receives Painful Bruises-Dragged Yards Ry II Mule Just a little before noon today Mr. Rufus Dudley, who lives across the river about four miles from t.owa, re ceived very severe and painful bruises when he fell from the back of a mul-^ and was dragged about two hundred yards. .Mr. Dudley had linished his work for the morning and was return ing home for dinner. He was re turning by way of the public roatj and a passing automobile at which the mule became frightened caused the .ic- cident. .Mr. Dudley was sitting on the side of the animal’s back and was instantly thrown to the ground as the mule jumped. In falling one of his teet caught in the reins and he was unable to tree himself until he'd been carried down the road at a terrifn^ gait for some distance. The only stop came afti'r the frightened animal turned into the woods and was hailed by the brush and trees. Mr. Dudley, while not seriouslv hurt, was brui.sed and skinned up very painfully.
