James Batercau who was up to market with as fine oysters as were ever here at this season that proper dredging is a great improvement to Oyster beds. . He states that before any dredging was done, nothing could be obtained except a mas3 of shells and very small "raccoon" oysters, while now there . is'an abundance of fine ones.
