Ed. Journal: So much of the article
that appeared in your paper of the 12th
iust, relative to the occurrence that hap
pened between Mr. Roase and my myself,
as states that the affray was maliciously
and deliberately premeditated on my part
or my sons is not true.
It there was any pistol snapped at Mr.
Boose. I tua ante I did not see it, nor did
I see any one cnt Mr. Rouse. What I did
was simply to resent what I considered an
insult to my daughter on the witness
stand. My sons seeing me encased in an
affray with Mr. Rouse rushed In, and
there followed a general affray, in which
Mr. Rouse was cur. I very much regret
the whole affair. , .
