NORTH CAROLINA APPRECIATES
. Xcw Yorker Who Would Not Ex
change HI. Home in Thl. Slale
tor any Other Pnrt of the Globe.
Reports Irom those who settle in any
part of North Carolina, east or west, from
the sea-coast to the niouutain's, indicate
that no State is liked better than ouis
when its beauties, conditions and advanta
ges become acquainted with. It is loved
alike !v the millionaire Vaiiderndt and
the sturdy yeoman. The Southern States
magazine contains a letter which is another
indication oi'this. It is written by W. II.
Reiptey who moved from Wistboro. X.
to Cherry ville, JN. C, in lan I an I there
fore has had ample time to become fully
satisfied as to the country he has made his
home. Hear what he says:
I have travelled in the West, but I
would not exchange this portion of North
Carolina for any other pnrt of tie globe.
I live in full view of the Blun
Ridge and the scenery sur
passes any description that I can give.
The climate is delightful, much warmer in
winter and aooler in summer than New
York. It is impossible for me to write all
that I feel or to do iustice to a descrip
tion, of our sunny Southern home and the
warm-hearted! mends we have lound."
The above is only a specimen ot what
can be found in almost every portion of
the State. North Carolina offers spies
did opportunities to those in quest of com-
lortable homes, and a hearty welcome al
ways awaits good settlers.
