the raw gum has not advanced more
rapidly than it bos in the last few
years is due, they say, not to an in
telligent cultivation and multiplica
tion of the rubber 'trees,-but., to the

three or four cloves, one-half tea
spoonful of pepper, one tablespoon

tablespoonfuls of floor, , robbed
smooth in a little cold water. Place
whore it will boil once more; as soon
as the sonp thickens set back and
add one pint of cold milk. About
half an boor is required to make tbe
sonp. Don't put in the milk until
about five minutes before serving,
and don't let it boil after adding the
