Greece has formally adhered to the preliminaries of peaci as u greed upon between the Powers and the heads of the dilferent legations have received positive assurance investing lliem with authority to treat with Turkey. As soon as the reply ot. Greece to the note of the Powers was handed to the representatives of the Powers, thelniti r telegraphed the Greek decision to the representatives of the Powers at C on stantinople with the request they ol lain an armistice with a view ol arianging permanent peace. There is a sense of relief in Atliens to day at the prospect ol an immediate end of the calamitous war. There is no ex citement and no poj ular demonstration is anticipated. The government has notified the Grtelt army of the mediation of the Powers. Up to the present there is nn sign ol a revolution or of a definite anti-dynastic movement at Athens. The people appear to be relieved at the idea of mediation and will be only too glad to baic pence restored, The powers are using their in fluence to persuade the Turks to cease hostilities, though Iherc are some doubts as to whether they will succted. Mr. Kalli, in the course of nn inter view ut Atliens this afternoon, intimated that the acquiescence of Greece to the plans of the Powers was due to the belief that Turkey would not be allowed to re tain jin inch of Greek territory.
