tiary met this afternoon to look to the
ousting' of all the Democrats who have
so far been retained. They were kept
there so that all the officers might not be
new hands, and the board now thinks it
time to change. Superintendent Smith
does not think so, and will try to keep
them until things are in better running

Governor Russell has returned to the
Mansion, and will remain hero now dur

today for redemption two $1,000 7-30
notes of the issue of June 15, 1805. The
persons making the presentation were
business men of Louisville, Ky. Upon
examination the notes were found to be
counterfeits, being a part of a very large
usuo of counterfeit notes which appearec
in th principal bond market in 1805
and 1807.
