There is a good deal of signifi cance to those who are familiar with insurance matters in Greensboro, N. "C. In the anuonuceuiont of a few days a;o, that another home fire insurance company has been organ ized in that city. The Southern Slock Mutual Company, is a home tire insurance company, which was organized in Greensboro three years ago. '. , The Stock Mutual insurance plan is one by which every policy holrlei receives not merely the ordinan i rj'.oction aeainst bre through bis policy, but receives a pro rata din dead from the profits of the com pany's business. For months past the Southern Stock Mutual has been at war with the Southeastern Tariff A-.socia tiop. ; troversy may be, the peoplo of Greensboro, instead of giving a half support to their ' home company have entered into the tight with their f u.l force, giving their home coinrany all the business they could, until the other day when the S u th em Stock Mutual found it must cease to take further n u ratio risks, as its business had increased to the limit prescribed by its chat ter. And to further show their fidelity and interest to ' home institutions, the people of Greensboro, quickly organized auotber home fire insur ance Company, the Underwriter Mutual, with a capital stock of ISO, 000, one half this amount being at once paid in cash. If the people of Greensboro prove as courageous in their support of every local enterprise, as they have in the backing'given the Insuranoe Companys, the future of their city is not problematical, for such feeling i shown, in the case of the home insurance company, which was threatened from without by a power - ful Association, means that Greens boro is a unit on homo institu tions, 'and their success is therefore assured. And it is this standing firmly by home institutions which makes cities prosperous and its citizens successful in what they under take.
