General Mac- Arthur cables from Manila under today' date that the transports Meade and Cali fornia have arrived. The latter was d- talned at Onam by a broken propeller, . The' Meade carried a squadron of the Third Cavalry, battalion of the Fif teenth Infantry' and a company 'of en giuoers.' This force originally was in tended for China but was diverted al Nagasaki , for Manila. - The transport probably will be sent to Hongkong to be docked.' .'The California was about 16 days overdue. It is reported that 700 tons of commissary stores which she carried have been damaged or destroyed.
