Supreme Court. Reception Held. Special to Journal. Ralbiuii, November 7. The news shows that yesterday's election was a model of good order iu this State. The exceeding slowness of returns of the vote for Congressmen nnd electors was due to the utterly absorbing character of the Senatorial Qgl.t. In this Senatorial light great i uteres; was felt in the vote In Wake, the Met ropolitan county. Both Simmons and Carr were naturally more il s reus to carry it than uuy other coiimy in the State. Chairman P immons nai at his olllct early this morning and congratulations were resumed. A geiitleiniu Iroin Qoldsboro brought him I ho largest per simmon ever seen here. Early returns today showed that Sim mons got 1400 majority iu lienic, 1 it) iu Pamlico, 800 iu IVntler, 1,(2 in r tanly. 700 In Davlo. Iu Hlauly, lilutlz, for Congress got 603 majority, Bryan only 4H3. The smallucss of the I). .no('raiio vote in Oastou was a surprise. The feeling of the negroes against the white Republicans is growing more and more bitter day by day. Of course y s- terday'a vote was thu last which some thing like two-thirds of the negroes uii: cast. They appeared to care but Imlc about voting. They made not the slight est demonstration at the election of Mc Kinley. There Is great goo 1 humor lcro as to the election. It was the case yostcrday and is so today. The Supreme Court today called the docket of appeala fiom the 7ih district Among the attorney's here are (i.-orgo. M Rose and N. A. Sinclair of KayeUevillc; N. A.
