The growth of Durham is certainly
remarkable. Two great cotton mills are
now under conctruotlon at Edgemont,

more than eight acres of ground. The
prediction Is made that in ten years
Durham will pass both Raleigh and

father Jubal Oooeh becanse the latter
was beating the mother of the boy.
The father - was drunk and beat the
woman unmercifully, the son went to
her aid, the father ordered him away
and armed with a knife drove hjra oat 'of
the housei - Gooeh then renewed the
beating, when his son returned andJblew
out his father's brains. The son has
