The Supreme Court today filed the following opin ions: -Burney vs. Allen, from Bladen, affirmed; Ferrell vs. Broadway, from Le- uoir, petition to rehear allowed and pay ment below affirmed; Tiddy vs. Graves, from Guilford, petition allowed and judgment below affirmed; Arthur vs. Broadway, from Lenoir, affirmed; Rose man vs. Roseman, from Rowan, af firmed; Bailey vs. Bailey, from Bun combe, no error. Forty convicts will on Wednesday be transferred from the penitentiary to Moore county, where tbey will build lumber railway for W. H. Britton and will then cut timber for saw mills. The doctors were protec ted by forty-five policemen. The in tac tions of the Board of Health was to keep to quiet that not a tingle one of the 800 blacks who lived In the colony knew of It until the doctors and police appeared. When they sought to escape they found policemen everywhere. In the back of the Gwinnett Street row Is a rope factory. On the roof of this building half a dozen policemen were stationed, while other policemen went to the roofs of bouses. When the doctors and officers arrived most of the inhabitants were asleep. Wben the news spread of the raid much excitement pre vailed. Some went to the roofs, others, to the cellars, and some tried to escape from tqeir homes only to be driven back by the police. Force had to bo used in some cases before the work could be ac complished. A family, consisting of a man, bit wife, and three children were found hiding In a cellar, and otbers locked themselves In their rooms. Doors bad to be forced open in order to get In.
