IN AND ABOUT NEW BERN. ; VOICE OP PEOPLE.:-:.: An Excellent Combination. The pleasant method and beneficial Sects of the well known remedy, Btbcp or Frae, manufactured by the Calijobiua Fia Sybuf Co., illustrate the value of obtaining the liquid laxa tive principles of plants known to be medicinally laxative, and presenting them in the form most refreshing to the taste and acceptable to the system. It is the one perfect strengthening laxa tive, cleansing the system effectually, dispelling colds, headaches and fevers gently yet promptly and enabling one to overcome habitual constipation per manently. Its perfect freedom from every objectionable quality and sub stance, and its acting on the kidneys, liver and bowels, without weakening or irritating them, make it the ideal laxative. In the process of manufacturing figs are used, as they are pleasant to the taste, but the medicinal qualities of the remedy are obtained from senna and other aromatic plants, by a method known to the California Fie Syrup Co. only. In order to get its beneficial effects and to avoid imitations, please remember the full name of the Company printed on the front of every package. CALIFORNIA FIG SYRUP CO. BAN FRANOIBOO, 04X. Jodbsau One ot the most talked of question, that.! causing more or leas trouble and discomfort U, should ladle remove 'their hat upon taking their eats In attending church t Cj , Tb writer deem It strictly proper, that ladle In attending a house of wor ship should be thoughtful, and remove their bead gear. In the first place, tap pose a lady attending church should happen to sit behind another lady Who Wore a large hat. She wou'd not be. very much pleased. , . ; -y---- In these time, a young lady endeav ors to see bow much the can pat npon her hat, and how high she can get it. I assure yon it is very annoying for the person who Is obliged to alt behind one ef thesehats. L The reason this question I being agi tated Is that a number of the attendants at church in thts oity. have been com plaining that they have been very much annoyed in straining their necks in an effort to obtain a view of their pastor and thereby lose 'all Interest In the ser mon. In other cities that the writer has been In he has noticed that in tbe places of worship he ha attended, the majority of the ladles, especially tbe young ladles tt.at wear those large street hats, remove them In church. 1 should think that the young ladles of New Bern, wishing to keep up with the times, weuld adopt this custom, by removing their hats, after taking their seats in church. I am quite sure that If tbe ladles would remove their hatsj the pastor will be pleased to note an inorease of young men among the congregation. ThlB I am sure will meet the hearty approval of all, who attend chnrch for the purpose of hearing the sermon. X. MARITIME MATTERS. Amended Position Diamond Shoal Light Vessel. Beaufort Harbor Lights.
