The attendance In the lower House today at the Impeach ment proceedings was again very large. Ladles were present in groat numbers. The debate on the resolutions regard ing the impeachment of Judges Furchei and Douglas occupied Beven hours time in the House today. Rountree of New Hanover, and Wins ton of Bertie, made strong speeches In support of the impeachment. Hoey, of Cleveland, Zichary of TrannBylvania, Smith of Gates and Hayes of Chatham, also argued along the same line, while Duls, of Mecklenburg ably opposed the Impeachment, and sup ported Judge Connor's substitute for the impeachment resolution, the substi tute being merely a condemnation for the Judges action. McLean, of Scotland, Sims of Wake, Richardson of Johnson, alio favored Connor's resolution. Dult in the course of bis speech said he was violating no secret when he suted that the sub-ccmmlttee's report, on which the impeachment resolution is based, was not adopted by the Judiciary committee. The debate will be resumed tomorrow at ten o'clock, aud Allen, of Wayne, chairman of the judiciary committee an nounces that a vote Is expected by one o'clock.
