resolution. Again the house was packed
to the doors. Interest In the famous
case never abated for an instant.

The resolution for the impeachment of
the Judges was taken up by the House
at ten o'clock this morning, the hour
greed upon Saturday.

opposed impeachment. He was followed
on that side by Owens, Populist of Tyr
rell, and by Mcintosh and by Pelree of

of McDowell. Locke Craig, of

Bill Introduced In the Senate. Provision
of the Proposed Act

Raleigh, Feb. 18. Today the new
public road law was introduced In the
Senate, by Senator Alexander. Tbe bill
is to establish a high way commission,
composed ot the commissioner of agrl
culture and the State geologist, to serve
without additional pay; these to select a
secretary for the bo.rd of agriculture
and to have authority to employ a com'
petent engineer. Tbe commission will
have charge of constructing and repair'
ing highways, public roads, bridges, etc
It will confer aod advise with county
nd township authorities. The bill also
creates county commissions and town
ship road trustees. It Is very complete
and well prepared.

Nation put in a busy Sunday in Tope
ka, today, and aB a result the capital

the oldest inhabitants. Mrs. Nation lit
erally crammed the day with thrilling
pisodee. She succeeded in having the
contents of a notorious joint smashed,
broke into a cold storage plant where

them, addressed a large mass meeting
of men and women and was arrested
four limes. The last time that the law
laid lis hands upon her was when Mrs
Nation emerged from the church where
the mass meeting bad been held. Tc
night Mrs. Nation announces that she
will begin tomorrow morning where
she left off today, and will not rest un
til the joints In Topeka have been
closed.
