Respectfully, J. vT- Baxter. One Price Railway Fare Bill Tabled More Dispensary Bills. School Bill Passed. Speaker Stevenson of 8. C. Introduced. Special to Journal. Raleigh, March 5. The bill to make only one class of passenger fares was tatiled today. It would haveabollshed first and second class rates and made a uni form rate of three cenlB a mile. It was favored by the railroad companies. Several new dispensary b'lls were in troduced today. One of these provides for a dispensary for Washington, Beau fort county. The school bill passed the House practically tf It came from the Senate. The only amendment to ihe bill pro vided that county boards of education should have the authority to allow County Superintendents to teach. The bill for reorganizing the Agri cultural Department and making the commissioner of agilculture its bead passed. The bill incorporating the Kenans villo Air Liue Railway passed. A bill was Introduced in the Senate making it a misdemeanor, with a penal ly of fine and forfeiture of license, for a guarantee company to compel a coun ty officer to deposit funds in National banks alone. The bill which passed the Senate yes terday creating three State Supervisors of education wai called back from the House and reref erred. William F. Stevenson, speaker of the South Carolina House, was invited to a seat beside speaker Moore and he was Introduced to the House. He Is a brother of representative Stevenson of Iredell county. The house com mittee on Soldiers' Home Ibis morning considered the Senate bill appropriating 13,000 annually for maintenance antl $5000 this year for a new dormitory nnri for repairs and Improvements of the other buildings, and decided to report the bill favorably.
