The House de-j roled much of its session today to the I consideration of the revenue bill on its 1 3rd reading. The amendment which was adopted I yesterday was defeated by a vote of 74 to 33. The biggest stir In the legislature thus far was carried by the adoption yesterday evening of this amendment to the revenue bill. It Imposed a mileage tax on railway earnings. It is said that two men in the State have for months been working in various ways to get this I step taken, In the face of the tax com promise effected by the State and the railways, which has tbe endorsement of the corporation comnisston, the Qov- lernor, etc. One man In toe legislature figures as the special champion of such a tax. The vote was reconsidered as soon as the more conservative Demo crats found what had been so hastily done with a light house, for but little more than half the members were pres- I enl at the time. The trust bill, known as tbe Robinson bill, which is really a copy of tbe Texas I law brought up to date, came up today, The bill Is especially designed to strike the American Tobacco Comyany and I entitled ' a bill to prevent discrimination I against independent manufactures ao.
