Th chief social event of the season was the marriage here this evening, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, of Miss Jane , Andrews, daughter of Vice-President Alexander B Andrews, to Mr. W. M. Marks, ' one of the leading citizen of Montgomery, Ala bama, he high social position of both families In their respective State mad the marriage of much more than ordi nary Interest. 1 The churoh was beautifully decorated, and there was- an ., Innovation, In that there was no reserved seats, . The bride was given away by her father. She was gowned lh ivory white satin, with point lace which her mother wore at her own wedding, wore pearls and oarrled a bo quet of bridal roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Ethel Marks, of Montgom ery, the groom's sister, was maid of honor and wore a gown of white over pink and a picture hat, and her boquet was or bridesmaid roses. Mr. Vt, A. Gayle ef Montgomery was best man. The ushers were the four brothers of tbe bride, Messrs. W. J., Alex B., John H., and Graham Andrews, and his cousin, Mr. Watklns Robards. Rev. Dr. I Mck. Peltlnger,' the rector, officiated, and Bishop Cheshire gave his blessing. A reception from 9:89 to 11 o'clock at the home of Col. and Mrar Andrews, followed. This was attended by thsJ world of society here and by a number of people from other parts of this Stste, and other 8tates.
