the absence of the Captain ""Commander.

Moztngo. - Roll was called and 83 ' mem-
bers answered to their names; . 19 were
absent, some came in later, five vera re
ported assaying died since our last an
nual meeting, Angnst 9, 1801. To wit:

regiment; T, E. 8, Paine, Co. F. 83rd

resolutions which were unanimously
adopted:
Whereas, It has. pleased our great
Capt. , Commander and- IMvlno Master,
Almighty. God, .to transfer from our
Camp on this side of the River of Death
to His Camp-on the other side to mingle
With the thousands of our fallen com
rades who have gone before, we bow
with humble submission to His divine
commands and recognize the fact that as
in. the brief period of one year one
twelfth of the strength of this Camp, has
answered to its last roll call hero, so will
the last one of ns have answered in a
few more years, probably in another do-
cade the brief period, of ten more years,
there may not be one of us to meet hero
and transact the business of this Csmp.
Surely some of us will be gone to join
out comrades in their Camp across the
river., Therefore be It,
Resolved, That in the death of onr
comrades, Fornes, Armstrong, Palne,
MIdyett and Potter, that this Camp has
lost five of Its beloved and faithful
members, who In the dark days of war
tsre vigilant sentinels, true, loyal and
faithful soldiers, and In the years slnoe
the close of the war, they have been loyal
citizens, faithful to every trust reposed
fn them, and tho county, State and coun
try have lost five good, law-abiding and
peaceful citizens.
, Resolved, That those resolutions be
spread upon the records of this Camp to
perpetuate their memory, That a copy
be sent to each of the families of tbe de
ceased snd s copy sent to the New Bern

Dinner being In readiness tho mcel-
Jng of the Camp adjourned until our
next annual re-union the 2nd Thursday
in August 1902, unless sooner called to
gether by our commanding officer. The
Veterans, their families and visitors then
repaired to the grove where a bountiful
dinner was spread for all, prepared by
the good ladies and our efficient commis
sary department. The Camp extends
an unanimous vote of thanks to all the
ladiea who so kindly assisted in provi
ding and preparing the dinner, request
that they contiuue to meet with us In
our re-unions.
