An order was it sued today disbanding the Klnston Divi sion Naval Brigade upon the recommen dation of Inspector General. Fatal FrestUn?. As the result of a wrestling match, Thursday night, at Bellalr, about four miles from the city, the body of a young strong negro youlb now lies cold In death. Tobias Peyton and Will Evans, were two strapping young colored men In prime health, and were employed on the farm of Mr. George Wilcox, at Bellalr, Being friends their days work ended, they went to the house of Will In the absence of the others of the family, to have a good time. At length wrestling became a part of the good time, and both being well matched some severe lussel llng ensued. Tobias finally succeeded in throwing Will off and in twenty minutes the latter was dead. Coroner J. W. Duguld, M. D., was notified of the occurrence, and summon ing a jury, he went out yesterday and Investigated the case. Finding no signs of violence on the body, a post raorte m examination was deemed necessary and the jury rendered the following verdict. "The deceased, Will Evans, came to bis death by a rupture of blood vessel In abdomen, accldently caused by wrestling With Tublaa Peyton," PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS. Mr. L. After an all-night session the Demo cratlc'bongTesklonal convention of the sixth district nominated Gilbert B, Pat terson of Kobeson county. At 8:80 o'clock Friday morning there were evidences that the end was near. Many delegates were asleep In the hall. Leading men Hale, Brown and patter son were in deep conference, and the prediction was made of a break. But Chairman Myrover called ballot after ballot without change of much Import ance. Once N. A. Sinclair, chairman of the Cumberland delegation cast 64 votes of that county for Patterson. In an in stant there were wild yells, and repor ters jumped to their feet and skurrled to their tables. The alarm was false, and the balloting continued. At 6:45 o'clock the vote cast was: Bellamy 121, Patter son 90, Hale 66, and Brown 64; and this went on quietly till tho 800th ballot Cum berland now throwing her vote to Pat terson and then to Brown. On the 803rd ballot the beginning of the end was clearly at hand. McLean of Robeson rushed across the hall, followed by McCormack to the delegation of Co lumbus. Just aa the 810th ballot was called there was Indescribable excite ment aa the voting began, Bladen giving Patterson 14, Columbus 161, Cumber land 66, Harnett 8, and Robeson 82, mak Ing his total 174. The convention hall rang with yells for five minutes. Messrs Mclntyre of Robeson, 8ioclalr of Cum berland and Stewart of Harnett a com mittee, escorted Mr. Patterson to the hall where he eloquently addressed the convention, which adjourned after one of the Btormlcst sessions ever held In North Carolina. VOICE OF THE PEOPLE. Why Change Officers. Mr, Editor: What does It matter what Mr. Green said or what any of tho County officers may have said In con nection with being candidates for office two years ago. The continued talk of It by those Interested is becoming tire some now. It la sufficient that the pres ent officern arc good ones and accommo dating to the public, and the people are satisfied (or them to remalu. It Is all the more reason why we should retain an officer who has expressed willingness to retire, especially when thoy are good and accommodating officers. What is the use of changing officers who, we sre satisfied with simply to let another fellow get in. It is now time to return to the policy of the office seeking the man, and we be lieve that with Mr. Gnlon In the Legis lature and the present County officers returned, a long step will be made to ward that end and the County's affairs will be In good and capable hands. Early yesterday morning, despite the rain of the night before, long trains of carts and wagons could be seen wending their way 40 the two warehouses in this city, until by noon the floors of the Planters and Farmers, were thickly covered with piles of the golden week. Two breaks were made at the Farmers yesterhay, one in the fore and one In the afternoon. Ten to twelve thousand pounds were knqeked down at from (6.00, all the way to $33.00. Bidding was brisk and In earnest J The Planters did herself proud, and all the afternoon handlers were busy clearing her floor for another big InBtall ment.
