State Labor Commissioner yarner,
when asked what he r thought of the
child labor law said that itwas a good
one u far as It went. What be was more
Interested in than anything else was the
prevention of night work In factories
by children. He also wm deeply Inter
ested in the educational laws, ' both of
these provisions were knocked out, and
the bill simply limits the sgetoUfor
work In mills.
Another one of the topical, storms
swept over this section today, with tor
rents of rain,-almost like the storms
fortnight ago.
A bill was Introduced today to charter
another "town" where ' there Is only s
whiskey distillery, - this place' being

revenue distillery of a man named Shore
Is located. " 1 i" 1 ' ; '

Congressional districts. ' ' ;
No one seems to be able to make any
estimate as to what the railway tax will
yield this year. The present assessment
of railways Is 13 million dollars. ' There
are soma people who want to assess the
roads at one hundred and fifty million
In order to bilng in a tax of one million
and a halt to the 8tate. It Is to be said
however that very few people have iuch
an Idea as this. A good many liquor
dealers and manufacturers are here,
looking after anti-liquor legislation, of
whlch-there' ls far more now than any
previous session of the Legislature.
