At six a m, September 2nd, General Manager HP Poster of the Howland Improvement Co, the lessee of the At lantic & North Carolina railroad, took poseesston of this property, and tbe State management ceased to exist. The stockholders at their meeting at Moiehead City, took recess after Voting on lease. The dlrectoi s of the rotd were not ready to repoit to tbe meeting until 11 p m Thursday , when the neces sary matters regarding the lease were settled. On motion Dempsey Wood, a committee of two was appointed to re- rlse the by laws of tbe A 4NC and re port at annual meeting. J A Bryan In behalf of directors submitted to the meeting a lease drawn by the directors, with recommendation it be adopted. On motion of H R Bryan, Jr, the leaee as submitted was ratified by the stock holders meeting.
