Ives has received a lot of cod fish and haddock from New York, itnd is delivering them to customers. Mr. Ives ordered these fish on account of the limited varieties in the local market. He has been able to get only mullets for some time and he believes that a supply of this excellent sea food will have a large demand among the people. It is a rather unusual thing to order fish for this market when the ship ments of tins very commodity is one of the principal features for which New Bern is noted. Biit this has been an unusual season. The extreme cold and bad wt'Hther has cut oft the fish trade very prcceptibly and the only marketa ble hah caueht in any quantity seems to be mullets and people soon grow weary of one variety. The advent of cod and haddock will be welcomed by many. AN URGENT REQUEST. Mr. Dwi((ht Styron received a tele gram from the State game warden, f. Gilbert Pjrson, yesterday requesting him to ask the public to scatter crumbs and grain on the ground for the use of the birds. Snow and sleet cover the ground and the birds suffer on that ac count as they cannot get at their natural food. All humanely disposed persons will bear this request in mind and scatter crumbs and grain on the grdund. When you feel a sense of weight r.nd oppression after meal it means indi gestion.
