There is no abate ment of Interest In the fate of the lit tle son of Stete Senator Beasley of Currituck, f All s aorta of stoWes hayi been current, : One of these was that a strange man was .seen at Currituck Court ' House the next day after the nine year old school boy disappear ed, traveling in a wagon, in hich was little bov Jwho was crying. A gentle man who came here today from Curri tuck says very careful inquiry shows that this story was not true. , There was no truth in the other one : that the child had been found In company with a drunken white man in a deserted lum ber camp. The very best solution of the disappearance seems to be that the child walked on the ice on the sound fell in and was drowned. , The ice is now beginning to break up, , and it is thought the body will be found there. Lt. Governor Winston who was speak ing about the caae to the gentleman from Currituck says he believes this is the true state of affairs. There has been more ice on the sound than in many years. . though the ice" and snow have all gone from Raleigh yet as near here as Henderson there is ice on the ponds. ' Or- ' State Horticulturist Hume has gone to Georgia to secure some of the very best van ties of pecans for planting in this State, i , ; The oyster canners returned today, having won a victory in their fight against the increase of the tax on oys ters, which was urged by State Oyster Commissioner, W. M. Webb of More- head City. - There is to be better regu lation of the oyster traffic but no in crease in the tax. . Many members of the legislature are saying they expect to go home a week from next Saturday, but bow the sion is going to end that soon la rather aDutsle. - The code has not been dis posed of, none of the appropriation bills, and nor the revenue act. - Some gentle men said today that perhaps the Cover nor would have to call a special session to begin the day when this one will end so there would be no break and the membera would get their pay. , There has been one night session oftheHouse io far, bat none of the Senate. Never before has it been so late m the session before night sessions Began. The bill to aboliih bucket shop will eaiilr pass the legislature. It is said that the bill is not exactly what the eot ton meat desire, as they want an oppor tunity to buy futures, fa order to pre tect themselves. Such is their claim. It is said that the bill can be easily fixed seas to relievo them. ; As it now stands it does not meet their ease. At Roxboro today the daughter of Slate Senator Long was married. Moore of Gaston said he had been com pelled to bow his head in shame at practices of disreputable lawyers in his county, this practice being a disgrace to the profession, which had aroused contempt in minds of people, State Bar Association not having acted against this class of attorneys. Long offered an amendment providing it shall be further unlawful for a lawyer to advise or procure any person who has with drawn any action already instituted. Thia was adopted by vote of 18 to 15. Bill passed second reading and was re-referred to Judiciary committee by vote of 28 to 1 to.be re-drafted. In the House bills were introduced to create board of prison parole; to pre vent bird dogs from running at large during nesting and breeding seasons of birds; to regulate challenges when a special venire is drawn) from jury box. Scales' reformatory was taken up as special order. The galleries were filled with ladies. Graham of Granville said there were three reformatory bills and all ahould be referred to committee on penal institutions. Glenn opposed delay motion to refer was adopted Urge ma jority. No statement is maue regarding tnem tnat is not lustt- fied by the strongest evidence. The tmnty ana sweetness, tne power to afford immediate relief, the certainty of speedy and permanent cure, the ab solute satety ana great economy, nave made them the standard skin cures and humour remedies of the civilized world. The grandest testimonial that can be offered the Cuticura remedies is their world-wide sale, due to the per sonal recommendations of those who have used them. . From a small begin ning in the simplest form, against prejudice and opposition, against moniea nosts, counties rivals, ana trade indifference, Cuticura remedies have become the greatest curatives of their time, and, in fact, of all time, for nowhere in the history of medicine is to be found another approaching themin popularity and sale. In every clime and with every people they have met with the same reception. The confines of the earth are the only limits to their growth. They have conquered the worlds Sold thnrochoot tbe votid.
