Once again tSe Are fiend has . visited
this city with his torch of destruction
and hud low building almost id the
heart of the city, and keeping adjacent

them'. About 2:16 Friday morning fire
broke out in L. G. Daniel livery stable
and that Institution together with Dill's
livery stable,' Gaskill Hardware Com

completely wiped out of existence,'
The fire is reported to have been seen
first by policeman ben Bryan, who af

burning building while Mayor Ellis rang
the alarm,' :; At that early hour In the
morning there were but wry few , peo

the alarm bell and the bright reflection
of the flames hv the skies brought . out
the citizens post haste. J.x-- ''.

to release from their confinement in the
stalls the fifteen horses that were
housed there and they suffered horri

incident for Mr. AJvin Daniels, brother
of the proprietor Who was sleeping up
stairs in the bam, ' Mr. Bryan went to
the door and wakened the sleeping man
who; comprehending hi danger, grab
bed hi clothing and ruahed out not soon
enough, however, to escape being badly
burned, about toe head. Mr. Daniel
