BUSINESS and' social Reciprocity between nations is very often held to be the great panacea on its commercial side, to unit countries for peace and trade interests, and prove a bulwark against possible inter national complications which might lead to war and bloodshed. If reciprocity is so important and beneficial between nations, what must be said in. its favor when given local application in a. community, when neighbors join interests to assist each other and promote good feelings, com mercially and socially. If there is one certain means to give developmet and establish local stability in trade, it is through the reciprocal efforts of every citizen to trade witli the home merchant and for merchant and citizen to work together to promote and build up local enterprises. In no particular, usually is the lack of reciprocity &p evident, as is that shown towards the local newspaper. Here ia an enterprise, an institution, which stands for every community in terest, gives free help to local enter prises, bears the brunt and fights every outside attack made upon its people, and this without any recompense. And yet in every community there are citi zens who accept its newspaper's favors in way of local protection, and never advertise in its columnR, or subscribe for its issues. But if one the friends of such men die, or a relative gets in the police court, or a social function is given, there is the favor to be asked of the local newHpcr, to suppress the evil, exalt the dead, glorify the living. Such people are like the citizen who pays no taxes, but is the first to call loudest for police protection, and abuse the officer who does not come to his help on the run. It is this mutual help from every side that builds up every line of trade in a community. H is the same in religious matters, where the question is not asked as to being a brother's keeper, but going unsolicited when the neigh bor needs help. Society is not given its true value unless there be the joint effort of the entire circle to assist, and thus it is on every side in a community, the urgent need for reciprocity, the kind which is unselfmh, which is willing to give and share, instead of standing aside, watching for the chance to get the better of some neighbor who may be in trouble, and cannot protect him self. $100 Reward $100 The readers of this paper will be pleased to loam that there is at least one dreaded disease that science has beet) able to cure In all its stages, and that in CaUrrh. The play is from the pen of Mark E. Swan and is said to be one of the best that this famous playwright has ever written. The music which is by Max S. Witt And De Witt C. Coolman is reported as catchy and popular. Entirely new scenic and electric equipments have been built and brand new costumes provided for this, the second season of the play which has been rewritten so as to be entirely un to date. A rollicking chorus of pretty girls is said to add greatly to the gay ety of the piece and from reports it seems that "Fritz and Snitz" is one of the greatest hits of the boards. A. P. N.
