V Evansenst Stuart Till ;Hor tha Tongui Cia PremotsUis Intsretftof Christ'i Kingdom. 1 The morning meeting at the' Metho dist church yesterday was the most inv pressive held yet. The Holy Spirit has taken possession ol the city and tna people go almost en masse to receive the blessing and inspiration -imparted at tbese meetings. It is tha greatest revi- val ever held in the city and there has been no time' when there has been so mucY serious thinking. " The discourse as as all his morning sermons are, on the text in Aela 2,; "lney were with one- accord in one placo," The remarks wera on the line of prayer and praise.: The ministry of song, the smile and the pleasant word time would surely have its results. He told of several beautiful incidents where a song had won a soul to Christ and that narrative was the means of some making a profession; At the end there was a remarkable and a most affecting scene. When Mr. Stuart asked for those who have been praying ''for tt the:e meetings, andj for cheir friends, to go forward to the altar or kneel where they were sitting. The invitation was no more than made be fore the altar and all the front seats fwere filled with praying men and won; en and all over the house persons were saeh kneeling in silent prayer. Peti- ions were offered by several peopUThi8 tlfmm at 2 30 0.cloek in the and afterward the evangelist askid all who desired to live a better life to atana, in response about 25 persons stood. The night meeting was another won derful demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. The congregation seemed to be led .by that mysterious influence which has developed in a most marvelous manner. Each meeting auperjedes the proceeding ones in in terest and while the number of con verts does not seem to increase greatly enough interest is manifested to show fiat an ur. usual experience is trained The sermon was unusually strong and searching discourse on the well known text. ''Be not deceived,. God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap. " The process of sowing and reaping was explained and the analogy between physical sow ing and spiritual sowing was clearly defined. He uttered striding and terri ble truths and made some words pict ures which not one of the audiene will forever get so vivid was the language. The number of people who professed conversion was notably increased.
