HINTS FOR FARMERS
Brenat Bonea of Ponltrr.
The Idea that roosting on a .pole or
roosts causes crooked breast bones in
young poultry hns become an explod
ed theory. Oue experienced poultry
raiser tells us that after a great deal of
Investigation he has found that crooje
rd breast bones result from the lack j)f
proper bone building food and not
from roosting on a perch. Last year
be conducted a little experiment of hie
.iwu.
One pen of pure bred Plymouth
locks was fed a ration of bone and
meat meal mixed with other feed onee
n day and another pen was given no
bone building food. Both pens had
roosts, while a third pen was without
I'oosts and was fed lao bone building
i'ooil. The pen that received the bone
meal showed no signs of crooked
breast bones, while the majority of ths
ilhor two pens were affected. He con
hides that It Is bone food and not ths
absence of roosts that keeps the breast
bone straight. Chicago Inter Ocean. -

Both Amerlcnn and European beecber

ing Advice.
"If you have anything to do with
medicines at all be pretty sure you
know what you are taking."
Our local druggist, F. S. Duffy, says
this is a strong point in favor of thei
valuable cod liver preparation, Vinol.
Everything it contains is plainly printed
OB the bottle, therefore it is not a
patent medicine.
Vinol contains in a highly concen
trated form all of the medicinal ele
ments of cod liver oil, actually taken
from fresh cods' livers, but without a
drop of oil or grease to 'nauseate and
Upset the stomach.
This is the reason that Vinol accom
plishes such wonderful results in curing
chronic coughs, colds, bronchial and
lung troubles, and there is nothing
known to medicine that will so quickly
build up the run down, overworked
tired and debilitated, or give strength
and renewed vitality to the aged as
Vinol.
Mrs. Martha Fraser of Portland, Me.,
writes: "I was all run down from
overwork and had a chronic cough for
years. I had tried so many remedies
without help that I had lost all faith in
medicine. My daughter bought me a
bottle of VinoL It simply worked won
ders forme: it cured my cough and
brought back health and strength and I
am better than I have been for years. "
We can only ask every one in New
Bern, who needs such a medicine to
try Vinol on our guarantee to return
their money if it fails." F. S. Duffy,
Druggist.
