''f -With most people Christmas giying
As a problem, which is not always satis
factorily solved when the gifts are
-bought and given. There is an art in
successful gift bestowing which may
ii some degree be navural, but which
demands years of
iu tuvu r .
cultivation.
At this season of the year with every
one who gives, it is either a question of
art or a task in their securing and giv
ing presents at Christmas.
The task of Christmas giving is made
bo, because of human vanity or selfish
ness, or a combination of both. There
is,gift presentation which has for its
sole purpose, the object of paying an
obligation. There is also theift sent
that the sender may receive -one in re
turn. These are not Christmas . gift
givings, although they parade under
. . . ..A.J
such a name, for neither is prompw a (
by love, or the thoughf of a single
good impulse, that would raise the
sender in the love and esteem of the
receiver. Gift giving in its high and
true sense, is not impelled by vanity or
any sordid feeling, and sending gifts
to be known and heralded, or to impose
a counter obligation are prompted by
no genuine heart emotions.
While it may be called an art, to give
presents, naturally, that is so the re
cipient shall not feel the present, but
simply recognize the spirit of love or
friendship, of which it is the bearer,
it is an art of naturalness, of open

for Christmas gifts should not be given
as a payment of an obligation, a squar

suffice for the ensuing year.
It is the art of giving at this holiday
time, which places an added value to
every present, cost what it may, for
the recipient never figures on the dol
lars or cents that the present may have
cost the sender, but the value is mark
ed in the love or esteem which the
receiver believes prompted the sending.
. Without the art. the heart natural-
nesvthere Is a burden in Christinas
living. Not that it Is applicable to
quU "more blessed to give that to re
ceive." for it is not in the charity
amse that this is written.. But t
tween relatives and friends, there need
not be the task so often felt, nor will it
bt a task or problem, when the gift
sending is rightly prompted, by fed
inn which are sincere, freighted with
love, which will make the jrll but the
conveyer of the good will, the esteem,
' the kv of the sender to the receiver.

Just 27 miles from the classie eitv of Athens. Ga.. is located the thxivm-

. , , , fc-f r r -.-. af aiAiaT s, uolethorpe uo., yA., jury 1.
For twelve or fourteen years I have, been a afreet sufferer with a terrible -
form of Blood Poison (Syphilis.) which ran into the secondary, and finally- it '.'

a solid mass of corruption, and finally the disease commenced eating away my',
skull bones. I became so horribly repulsive that for three years I Bbsolutey
refused to let people see me. I used targe quantities of. the most noted blood
remedies, -and applied to nearly all physicians near me, but my : condition con-;
tinued to grow worse, and all said I must surely die. My bones becsimeHhe
seat of excruciating aches and pains; my nights were passed in misery; I was
reduced in flesh tCnd aCrength; my kidneys were terribly deranged, and life be
came a burden to me.
I chanced to. See" an advertisement of B. B. B., and I sent one dollar to W.
C. Birchmore and Co., merchants of our place, and they procured one bottle
for me. It was used with decided benefit I continued its use and when eight
or ten bottles bad been used was pronounced sound and well.
Hundreds ol scars can now be seen on me, looking like a man who had been
burned and then restored, - My case is well known in this county, and for the
benefit of others who may be similaily affected, I think it my duty to give
facts to the public, and to extend my heartfelt thanks for so valuable a' reme
