Raleigh, March 20. Harry Clark,
alias Fred Morris, and "The Jew," the
Fair faker who was convicted and sent
to the roads of Wake county for the
shooting affair at the Union station in
Raleigh, last October, late last night
effected his escape front the convict
camps at Neuse.' The man was again
brought into prominence some weeks
ago when it was discovered that he had
tried to bribe a steward connected with
the camp, . which was foiled by the
watchfulness of other officers. .. '
Clark was captured at Youngsville,
. C ; todny, his apprehension was tel.
dgraphed by the Mayor of Youngsville,
ho later telephoned tlie sheriff of
Wake county. -The identification was
by witness in the case lately tried at
Wake court. Your correspondent talk
ed with Clark, He stated that he was
uffering from rheumatism caused by
ixposure in last nights bad weather .

who is in Florida on business in which
he relates a very narrow escape he had
from serious injury and possibly death

was on trial before Judge H. R. Bryan
in the Meclenburg Superior Court Mon
day. It was expected that the con
tent would be long and biltt-r and a
bi illiai.t array of counsel had been en
paged on cither side. fh termination

it began was therefore somewhat of a
surprise to all conterned. v
A jury hi.d betn secured and the de-f.'iii-e
succeeded in having some of the

ed to submit the case without the intro

ville. John Henry Johnson got st
