Among the many other events that will take place during the Firemen's Tournament and Bi-Centennial which will be held in this city on Ju'y 26-30, is a burlesque parade by the firemen. Most psople here are through plant ing corn and some have planted cotton. The frost that -came a few nights ago did not do much damage to crops in our vicinity. The prospect at present ia very en- courging for a large fruit crop, we hope it will continue so. There has been some fine weather for farm work this spring and the far mers . are pretty well up with their work. . - There seems to be an epidemic of mumps in oar community. If r.
