EDISON'S- NEW EST PRODUCT Has Invented Moving Pictures In Their Native Colore. They Talk Like Beat People Newark. N. J.. May 30-Thomae A. Edison, the "electrical wizzard," said today that he has succeeded in produc ing a moving-p icture photographing; ma chine which will take pictures in their native colors, the experiments showing such results aa to warrant the inventor saying that almost any day would see its perfection. "While color photography is not new by any means, " said Edison, "its diffi culty for just ordinary landscape pic tures is such that only a few 0tK mentera care to use the Lumiere plates, and even in the hanls of the expei ts the results are indifferant. . . ''I am also working -on a machine which will reproduce the pictures ae well as the moving-talking-picture ma chine. I know that there are some on the market, but none of them are any good. There's no synchronism between the pictures and the tR Iking. Just think of having a picture colored true to na ture, with the action and talking clear ly reproduced. 'I've had Mr. Lumiere here. He stayed with me a couple of days and was satisfied with what I have done. Mr. Edison was asked what was the principal invention needed by the human race and which had not been invented "I are no prophet, ' ' he replied, ' 'and rdo not care to answer that question Let's rather talk of what we have done" "Do I intend to write a book? Not on your life. I have not written any thing for 20 years, except an article the other day for a friend who runs an elec trical magazine. The only things write now are autographs." ' STRONG COURTEOUS PROGRESSIVE GRADUATION Graduation is an epoch in the lives of young men and woman. As they leave their schools or colleges equipped intellectually for the battle of life, it is too often the case that they are ill prepared to grapple with its practical problems. A gift of a Bank Book will go far toward remedying this defect; for it is the lesson of saving, of living within the income received, that is the fundamental principle of success. This Bank welcomes Savings Deposits in any sum down to $1.00 upon which it pays interest at the rate of 4 per cent. WM DUNN PR EST. . CD.BRADHAM VICE PR EST. TA.UZZELL CASHIER Totals 33 406 000 32 324 000 The total estimated increase of cot ton acreage in the United States lor 1910 is 3 3 per cent or 1 082 000 more than last year and the average planting of the crop is 12 days later than last year. The high prices that have prevailed for the past year has resulted in gener al increase in acreage, particularly in Texas and Oklahoma. The freezing weather in April caused considerable damage and necessitated .a great deal of-replanting, fortunately this occurred at a time when less than 30 per cent of 1 he crop waa planted, and only part of this above ground. During the past two weeks copious rains have fallen over the entire, belt, but there have been complaints of continued cool weather. The Texas crop promises to break all records, warm soason able weather du ring June ts now all that is necessary to assure a satisfactory crop. We have received a number of com munications, from Virginia, Missouri and Kentucky, but not enough to war rant definite conclusions, although a small increase in acreage is indicated. we have used last year's government figures for these states, - r LATHAM.
