A runaway that came near proving fatal to the colored driver occurred on Queen street near the Norfolk South ern passenger depot yesterday morning. William Gould, a colored driver had left his dray near the Coast Line track for a few minutes while lie slipped down the street to talk to another drayman. In his absence the home became frighl- ened and started off down the street at a rapid pace., Gould eaw the animal as he rtsrted off, and by running as faat sa possible succeeded in climbing on the dray.
