Campbell, about 500 feet from s lone spot, where Miss Lena Hansen was found slain last night. Miss Hansen was found dead three blocks from her homo, two bullet wounus near ner heart. There was no sign of a robbery or struggle. This morning Campbell's body was discover ed; also with two bullet holes near the heart and by his side a revolver ing four empty cartridges. carry- Police investigation disclosed that Campbell had been devoted to Miss Han- . She discovered that ho was mar ried and told him that his attentions must cease. Hood of GoMsboro, candidate for nomination as Representative in Congress from the Third North Carolina District delivered his first campaign ad dress in this city last night at the court house. From the opening of his remarks un til be had completed his speech Hon Hood had the entire attention of his audience. He referred to the parly platform, the part that the working man should have in the affairs of Stnte and the tariff and each subject was uhly explained.
