New York, June 23 -Reports of scat tered rains in Southern Texas and part of Oklahoma, caused the cotton mar ket to open down this morning, and some southern selling was noted. Prices then rallied moderately on short cover ing and the market turned dull If Texas and Oklahoma get good tains -this Week, the market is expected to work lower, otherwise a sharp' rally .is liketjjr, C " ; .. It has come to. me that a rumor is being circulated throughout this congres sional district to the effect that I am no longer a candidate for the nomination for Congress. Such a statement is absolutely without foundation in truth and ia a deliberate fabrication of the person who first put it forth. ' Without further comment, let me say that I am in the race to the finish and can be retired only by the people of the district in convention assembled whose prerogative it is to name- the candidate.
