' i While in conversation with one of tfai kontractors yesterday, he informed th writer that it would be sometime in the latter Part of January before thi new Blades theatre which is now being constructed, will be completed. Tb managers of the theatre hoped to open during the first part of the month. This however will be impossible. Although Christmas is near at hanj and usually there is much rowdyism among the law breaking-element of the city at this season, so far there has been but little of this in this city. IB the. police court yesterday afternoon there was only one minor case on the docket. This verefies the fact that there is but little disorderly conduct go ing on. i Already the annual influx of student! homeward bound to spend the holiday! with their relatives, baa begun and wiB continue for the next five or six days! Practically all of the trains arriving in this city are behind time and it wi.I continue to be worse until after the first of the year when pupils have all t turned to their respective schools and colleges. All of the crews on the Government! boats which are located in this port will observe Christmas in a very appropriate manner. The sailor boys have recently received their pay for the month of No vember and during ythe past few days they have purchased many gifts to send to loved ones in other cities. An ela borate dinner will be served them that day on board of the boats. Superintendent Retves -of the Nat ional Cemetery is having 69 trees re moved as the growth has become much too dense. Several of the trees were very large and a number of head stones were removed temporarily to prevent their being injured.
