Yesterday at noon the New Bern Chamber 6t O mmeroe and the Craven County Farmer's Union met in joint session at the curt hone for the pur pose oi completing and perfecting plans for the big agricultural exhibit which is to be held in this city on November 22 and 23. After MrrD. P, Whitford ha! been elected chairman of the meetinirand Mr. J. Leon Williams chosen aa secre tary, the gentlemen who had assembled to discuss the plans for the big event proceeded to transact the business be fore them. Mr. Williams stated that at the meeting which was held in hie of fice on the previous Saturday a com mittee was appointed to select a site and secure donations for this exhibit. That this committee had begun work on the following Monday morning and had secured the old tobacco warehouse on north George street, which was gener Ously donated for this event by Mr. G. S. Waters who holds a leabe on tin building. That after this buildir.g hud been secured space for one hundred booths was marked out and that 06 of of these booths had bven sold to iounl merchants nud manufacturers for $5 each and that the remainiug 34 could without any doubt be dispone! of with out much trouble. This money, he said would be used in paying the ex penses of the exhibit. Mr. Larry I. Moore arose affer Mr. Williams had concluded his repoit and congratulated the committees who have been so zealous in their work. He said that he was intensely interested in this exnmit and in it tie would lend nis as sistance in any way in making it a kuc- , cess. Further etated that an event of j this variety was worth thousands f dollars to a town and New B-rn coul i not afford to let it psss by at aiy cam. but that it would take considerable ef fort to make it a success and th;il every citizen should aid as much as possible in accomplishing thiseno. Several of the members of thefarm er's Union then made short talks in which they expressed their intention of i a gisting an much as possible in making tnis exhibit the event of the year and Uut every farmer in Craven county would do likewise. The faimeis clear ly understand the fact that the ari cultural pan of the affair depen Is en tirely upon them and unless the; put their shoulders to the wheel and do all in their power 0i9 venture will be a complete failure. After a number of other genclemen had expressed their views ihe commii tee held a comnltation and decidid to have the exhibit on November 22 and 23. This date is only a few wexks dm- aant and those who take part in ih ex hibit will have only a short wIhIh in Which to do their work, but it vi d cfded upon mainly on account of the (net that on hose two days (he fam us Glenn H.
