L, McL-.ushlin, of Maxtor, N. ft, boih U. S. Deputy Marshals, were yesterday morning discharged from the Government Fervice for be coming intoxicated while they weie en mute to New Bern wiih piijcners to at tend Federal Court. The Marshals and their prisoner? c me over from Wilrnirgon Monday evening and passengers on the train re ported their bad conduct to the Federal authorities. It is taid that they were V3ry offinsive, using indecent and vul gar language in the pretence of ladies who were on the train and caused all of the passengers much annoyance. As soon as this was heard by the authori ties the deputies wen; called before them and told that their services was no longer required. McLaughlin has been in the service for more than ten years and has always been well thought of by the Federal author ilies and they regret that his in discretion made it imoerative for him to be discharged.
