perintendent, S. M. Brinson, whi ex

Southpo-t, Nov, 10-Thursday, No
vember 23. will he a Re J Letter Day
in the history of Soutbport. On that
day the first passenger train will enter
the town and a celebration appropriate
to each an important occasion has been
planned ant the people of the entire
State are ext -ndid a cordial invitation
to be present on that day.
Arrangement will be msde to have
boars run at frequent intervals to and
from Fort Caswell so that visitors miy
bava the piivilege of seeing the Fort,
with all iti attractions, and a glimpse
of the ' mighty Atlantic" at the sime
time. The officers at Fort Caswell are
invited to serve on the Entertantment
Committee and their co-operation will
add greatly to the success of the dy.
The military band will be strongly in
evidence, and the committees in charge
of the musical part of the prog -am it h
hoped, will nuke sure that then. is
music a plet ty for every one to enjoy,
Th s ;s one of the chief attractions of
the day for many of the good people of
the County who CHnnot listen to a
band concert every week in the year.
Boat racing and field sports will take
place during the afternoon, following
the barbecue, and bear-steak event,
and if the weather is fair, these sports
may include baseba'l.
It is proposed to make the 23, a red
letter day and to do justice to the oc
