The Wilcox-Cropsey case was one of
the most sensational in the history of
Eastern North Carolina. Wilcox was
found guilty of the murder of Miss
Cropsey and on June 16, 10J, was sent
to the penitentiary. Frequent efforts
have been made to secure his pardon.
